Comedian Dave Chappelle tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday night just before he was scheduled to perform in Austin, Texas, the Associated Press reported, adding that the comedian has been forced to cancel several upcoming shows as he recovers in quarantine.
Chappelle has been hosting several socially distanced live shows since last June. The comedian decided to move his shows to Austin during the winter, his spokesperson added that all attending audience members, Chappelle, and his entire team had to undergo a rapid Covid-19 test before the shows. Earlier this week, Rogan had posted a photo of Chappelle in Austin hanging out with himself, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, comedians Michelle Wolf, Donnell Rawlings, Ron White and others.
Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan, who was scheduled to join Chappelle on stage on Friday and Saturday, apologized to fans for the cancellations on an Instagram post adding: “We’ll reschedule them as soon as we can.”
